Hello Girls,
How many of you out there have grey hair? Like a full mop of grey? Well if you do then you are leading the charge on the new grey hair trends we have seen coming through our social media.
Hopefully like my Mum, I will grow grey gracefully. Although I am not quite ready to give up my trips to the hairdresser for a full head of foils just yet.
If your Mum was sporting a grey doo, from her early to late fifties, it is highly likely you will follow.
Here's to rocking grey hair !
Have a great week,

The Rise of the Silver Foxes 👩🦳 by Delph
Hopefully you spend less time online than I do and therefore you haven’t noticed the new hair trend!
Surprise! Grey hair is officially in vogue, and that's fantastic news. At 50, I'm seeing more and more silver strands myself, after spotting my first grey at 43. As it continues to "grace" me with its presence, I've been contemplating the dye route, but honestly, I'm not sure I have the time or energy for it. So, this trend couldn't have come at a better moment!
Let's face it, society has a weird relationship with grey hair on women (mostly). For decades, it's been synonymous with aging, something to be hidden away under layers of dye. But guess what? The tide is turning, and grey hair is having a serious glow-up.
Gone are the days of grandma stereotypes. Today, silver strands are a statement, a badge of honor, and a trend that's as cool as it gets. From celebrities rocking their natural shades to everyday people embracing their greys with confidence, the message is clear: you don't have to hide your natural beauty.
Here's why grey hair is more than just a color, it's a movement:
Empowerment: Ditching the dye is about embracing yourself, flaws and all. It's a rejection of societal pressure to conform to unrealistic beauty standards and a celebration of authenticity.
Low Maintenance: Let's be honest, coloring your hair can be a time-consuming and expensive commitment. Going grey is the ultimate low-maintenance look. No more root touch-ups, no more salon appointments – just letting your natural beauty shine.
Versatility: grey hair isn't just one shade. From shimmering silver to smoky charcoal, there's a spectrum of greys to complement every skin tone and style. You can even add highlights, lowlights, or play with different cuts to create a look that's uniquely you.
Of course, going grey isn't for everyone. Some people love their colored hair, and that's perfectly okay! But for those considering ditching the dye, there are many women gong through the same thing and the results are fantastic!
Tips and tricks for transitioning to grey
To be honest, transitioning from dyed hair to natural grey is a journey I am not looking forward to! Here's your guide to making that journey a breeze:
Situation assessment: Take a peek at your hair situation. How much grey are we talking about here? Knowing where you're starting from will help you plan your route
Chat with a Hair Guru: And this is not your bestfrient we are talking about… Find a hairstylist who's familiar with grey transitions. They'll be like your trusty navigator, guiding you through the twists and turns of your hair journey.
Choose Your Detour:
Cold Turkey: Ready to embrace the grey? Let it grow, baby! It's like taking the scenic route – slower but oh-so-rewarding.
Blend it In: Ease into the grey life by lightening up those dyed sections. It's like smoothly merging onto the grey highway.
Highlights/Lowlights: Add some highlights or lowlights to help blend the colors. Think of it as adding little signposts along the way.
Color Correction: If you've been heavy on the dye, a color correction might be in order. Slow and steady wins the race, right?
TLC: Keep your hair happy with some TLC – think deep conditioning masks and hydrating treatments. grey hair tends to be thirsty, so give it a drink!
Trim & Tidy: Regular trims are like pit stops on your journey. They'll help manage the transition and keep your hair looking fresh.
Style it Up: Get creative with your hairstyles! Short, long, curly, straight – there are no rules here. Just have fun and rock your unique look.
Chill & Enjoy the Ride: Trying to be positive here…
There are so many beautiful women with grey hair, young, old, and anything in between. The more of us who embrace going grey, the more it becomes a trend and the right thing to do. It will be interesting to see what the next 10 years look like as people opt for more natural approaches to their hair.

Shampoo and conditioner for grey hair by Donz
There are a bunch of great products on the market for greying maines.
Why would you go to a grey shampoo you may ask when you have been using the same product for years ?
As we age our hair follicle changes, grey hair can be brittle and go brassy. Using a grey shampoo once a week can help maintain a vibrant grey look. Silver shampoo is perfect for natural grey hair which can develop a yellow tinge from exposure to the elements like wind, rain and pollution. The shampoo can help correct this brassy colour, as well as strengthen hair fibres.
A couple you could try ;
Loreal Série Expert Silver Shampoo - Silver shampoo gives clarity and shine for grey and white hair.
Matrix Total Results So Silver - A clarifying shampoo that cleanses and neutralises unwanted brassy warmth and eliminates dull, yellow tones.
